The curriculum at Bel Air Presbyterian Preschool is developmental, play-based, emergent and based on early learning standards. Our curriculum is lead by the interests of the children and fostered by the skills, knowledge and experience of our staff. We believe that working from a set of standards is essential to helping children meet milestones and set up the foundation for social and emotional health and academic learning. Activities are created based on these standards in the areas of social, emotional, cognitive, motor and spiritual development, as well as academic readiness and approach to learning. Though nurturing pre-academic skills are an important part of our program, our main focus is on the child’s social and emotional development through the preservation of childhood.

The most important goal of our early childhood curriculum is to help children become enthusiastic learners. This means encouraging children to be active, messy, curious and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out their ideas and to think their own thoughts.
